All About Jean
Jean received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio Dominican College in Columbus, Ohio, and was certified as a teacher by the State of Ohio. She later trained with Joseph P. Reel, Ph.D. at the Hypnosis Career Institute in Albuquerque (1990), and opened her office two years later. She has been in private practice since that time.
In 2001, Jean traveled to Arizona to train in HypnoBirthing® with the program's founder, Marie F. Mongan, M.Ed., M.Hy. Jean has been teaching this program of calm, comfortable birthing to numerous moms-to-be since that time.
Jean sees her role as that of a teacher and a facilitator. She guides her clients to develop their individual skills and abilities to achieve realistic and personally relevant goals. Hypnotherapy, she believes, is an art. Ideally, it must come from the heart, and it involves respecting the client's own needs and belief structure, and using that which the client brings to the experience of hypnosis to help effect meaningful, lasting change.
Jean has taught regularly, both privately and publicly, since opening her practice in 1992. Among the public conferences and workshops she has presented are:
